ArtFest Midwest is an annual, juried fine arts festival in Des Moines. Nearly 250 artists, based largely in the Midwest, are accepted to share their art with an average of 25,000 customers each year. ArtFest Midwest takes place during Arts Weekend in Des Moines—the last weekend of June.
SPPG acquired ArtFest Midwest in 2017 and has since managed all operations—from start to finish—to bring the successful fine art festival to life each year. Our team manages all accounting and logistics involved, as well as coordinates the application and jurying process for hundreds of artists. Additionally, we oversee all advertising, marketing, and promotional initiatives, ensuring the show is well-attended each year. SPPG staff is responsible for executing the two-day event, including managing dozens of committed volunteers, coordinating booth assignments and loading for hundreds of artists, ensuring customer flow is smooth and consistent, and attending to artist and vendor requests.
Our graphic designer is key in enhancing the ArtFest Midwest experience. We rebranded ArtFest Midwest in 2020, bringing a fresh new look to the event’s promotional materials. Our team also manages the website and social media for the event, including promoting artist work, sharing event details, and more. Moreover, SPPG coordinates the development, printing, and distribution of all event resources.
Executing an annual art festival takes a team, and SPPG staff makes an excellent team. ArtFest Midwest is the largest fine arts festival in Iowa, and we are proud to play a part in bringing free art, entertainment, and culture to the larger Des Moines area.
