THE ROLE
At SPPG, our practice understands the power and capacity that comes with information, education, and awareness. We are seeking an experienced Research Project Manager who will report to the Director of Research and Strategy. The Research Project Manager will execute and lead market research projects. This highly consultative role works in partnership with a team and conducts all phases of research, providing strategic input to support SPPG clients. Our clients include both for profit and non-profit businesses, government entities, associations, and non-partisan policy initiatives.
This pivotal role in our organization gathers the critical information needed to tell a compelling story leading to specific, actionable recommendations which create positive change important to communities and community members.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the research project lifecycle of multiple custom-designed market research projects.

Qualitative Research
-
Collaborate with the project team on qualitative research, facilitation of focus groups and in-depth interviews, assist with analyzing qualitative data, and theme development.

Serve as the lead in the recruitment of focus group participants.

Develop qualitative research instruments, focus group discussion guides, and in-depth interview guides.
· Quantitative Research

Serve as the lead in quantitative research analysis.

Develop quantitative research instruments, surveys and questionnaires.

Oversee vendors who are responsible for online survey programs and facilitating data collection.

Analyze data and interpret crosstabs prepared by vendors and communicate research findings to clients using data reports and presentations.

Write clear and actionable reports and recommendations that include charts/graphs illustrating data.

Work with Director of Research and Strategy in the development, scoping and pricing of research programs, including the creation of proposals.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

Strong project and time management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Exercise critical thinking by understanding and responding to complex questions from clients, leading the development of research projects, as well as delivering user-friendly data reports.

Broad understanding of quantitative research methodology, including an understanding of statistical significance and the importance of adequate sample size.

Experience analyzing data and an ability to interpret and draw key insights from crosstab analysis.

Data visualization skills including creation of pie charts and graphs in written reports and presentations.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Entrepreneurial attitude and a desire to learn and grow within the role.

A team player who would enjoy being part of a small research team and committed to working hard in order to help it grow.

Be willing to learn new and innovative techniques and incorporate them into the research.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Survey Monkey.

Programming experience in STATA, SPSS, R is not required
EXPERIENCE
3-5 years of experience
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Marketing Research, Business, Social Science (psychology, sociology, etc.), or a data-related field of study (statistics, data analysis, mathematics).
SENIORITY LEVEL
Mid-Level
SALARY RANGE
Salary based on experience, beginning at $50,000. All employees receive a comprehensive benefits package and a generous PTO package.
