Jackie Norris is a non-profit leader, political aide, educator and corporate strategist. She once served as the Assistant to President Obama and White House Chief of Staff to First Lady Michelle Obama.
Norris was born in Ossining, New York and earned a degree in political science from the State University of New York at Geneseo in 1992 and later a Masters in Political Science from Iowa State University. Her early political career began in the offices of Congresswoman Louise M. Slaughter (D-NY), Vice President Al Gore, and HUD Secretary Andrew Cuomo.
In 1998, Norris helped elect Tom Vilsack as the first Democratic governor in over thirty years in Iowa and then served as the state political director on Al Gore’s 2000 Presidential campaign.
In 2002, Norris became a high school history and government teacher after receiving her secondary education teacher certification from Iowa State University. She is the 2005 award recipient of the James Madison Fellowship for her commitment to becoming an outstanding teacher of the American Constitution. Over the years Jackie has served as an adjunct professor at American University in Washington, DC and John Cabot University in Rome, Italy.
During the 2008 presidential campaign, Norris was President Barack Obama's Iowa Senior Advisor, State Director and served as First Lady Michelle Obama's White House Chief of Staff. Norris later served as Senior Advisor to the CEO at the Corporation for National and Community Service to advance the Administration’s work on volunteer service. Norris continued her efforts to encourage more people to serve – this time focusing on engaging corporate employees and served as the founding Executive Director of the Points of Light Corporate Institute.
After a two year hiatus in Italy, where she was a professor of American Government while her husband, John, represented the US on agricultural policy at the UN Agencies, Team Norris returned home to Iowa.
Norris recently stepped down after serving four years as the President and CEO of Goodwill of Central Iowa to serve as the Senior Advisor for the Biden/Harris presidential campaign.

My dad was a high school government teacher and my mom was a school nurse.
I love to walk, hike and do anything outdoors.
Our dog Boss was named by our kids in honor of Bruce Springsteen.
