Hannah McDowell
Program Manager
Hannah McDowell joined the SPPG team as Program Manager in 2022.
Hannah is an Iowa native, graduating from high school in Boone. She followed a non-traditional path to receiving her education allowing her to bring interesting perspectives to the SPPG table. Hannah was a cosmetologist in Ames, IA for 5 years before deciding to return to school to obtain her bachelors in social work. She received her BSW from Augsburg University in Minneapolis, MN completing 2 internships with a youth focus. Hannah returned to Iowa and spent the next 3 years working with adults with disabilities to gain independence in the community. With her passion for systemic change, Hannah then obtained her masters in the study of law from the University of Iowa. After completing her masters degree, Hannah spent the 2021 legislative session lobbying for an array of client issues (child care, water quality, disability needs, workforce).
Hannah has a passion for systemic change. She enjoys looking at issues and finding the big pieces that need to change to solve the issue, and then deciding who needs to be at the table to mold those big pieces.
For Hannah, her work at SPPG feels impactful because it is community focused, and community driven. She is proud to work for a company that is committed to making positive changes with the community.
