Grace Altenhofen
Administrative Coordinator
Grace Altenhofen joined SPPG as an Administrative Coordinator in 2023.
Grace grew up in Shawnee, Kansas, where she developed a passion for communications while working at her high school newspaper. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Drake University with a degree in News Journalism and a concentration in Law and Ethics. While at Drake, Grace served as editor-in-chief of the student newspaper, leading her team to the 2023 Student Organization of the Year award and earning second place in the Iowa College Media Association’s Best Media Website. She was an active member of Drake’s Board of Student Communications, and she interned at the Society of Professional Journalists and the Des Moines Register before deciding to pursue a communications career outside of journalism.
In her free time, Grace can often be found reading, tending to her dozens of houseplants or playing with her Garfield-like orange cat, Sammy.
Grace’s passion for amplifying underrepresented voices drew her to the mission of SPPG. She appreciates that SPPG consistently strives to bring Iowans’ voices to the table on issues that have community impacts.
