Taylor Johnson
To an extent, she’s ambidextrous, but prefers being a lefty. She plays tennis left-handed and the violin and guitar right-handed. And she’s all-in when she thinks, talks, studies, and works on public policy issues. Taylor Johnson was a SPPG intern in 2007 and returned again in 2008.
Taylor will be a third year student at the University of Michigan where she majors in public policy. She was recently accepted to the prestigious Ford School of Policy.
“There are some people who know me who might be surprised about my interest in policy and politics. But basically it is about people and the relationships and interaction critical to improve people’s lives. I am doing more this year at SPPG and it is rewarding to work at a higher level on many different issues as a part of many different projects.”
Taylor’s attention to detail and work ethic at SPPG is simply a part of a life progression. She’s travelled to 10 European countries. Since the fourth grade, she has played the violin and continues to perform as a part of an orchestra at Michigan. And she had a mean backhand whether it was playing singles or doubles on the Valley High School Tennis team. So if it is Stravinsky, a slicing cut-shot, or policy research, you know Johnson does it with both hands.
