Community Outreach
If your new idea doesn’t make any sense, they’ll tell you about it in Cherokee or Mt. Pleasant or Marshalltown. To really push your issues beyond conference table buzzwords, they must be talked about, chewed on, and kicked around locally with “real people.” Crazy, huh? With our history as a grassroots organization, SPPG has connections all over the state for hosting our outreach activities and getting people to show up. Outreach has been a part of our toolkit for so long precisely because it helps to build consensus and ensure transparent and practical decision making. We should know, having conducted and organized hundreds of local outreach meetings, community forums, town hall meetings, focus groups, and information sessions on every issue under the sun.
