The Successful Families Caucus was created by a bipartisan group of legislators who saw the need to enhance families’ and communities’ abilities to be economically self-sufficient.
The Successful Families Caucus examines statewide strategies for families to be successful, encompassing all facets of Iowa communities. The Caucus aims to broaden the discussion from social service provision to a dialogue on all aspects of Iowa communities that ensure family success, such as education, transportation, criminal justice, workforce and employment, veterans’ affairs, and economic development.
Beginning with just four legislators representing each of the caucuses, the Successful Families Caucus has expanded and generated discussion across both parties and all committees within the Legislature. The success of the Caucus has been made possible with financial support from the Northwest Area Foundation and staff support from SPPG.
