Rick RutterHe’s one of those people who are “all in.” Everyone knows one or more of this “type of people.” No action is tentative, and ideas abound. One thing, Rick Rutter is involved in many activities, but that’s not nearly enough for him. Rick grew up in the town of Madrid (not Spain – in Iowa). He graduated with an AS from Des Moines Area Community College and received his BA in Business Management from William Penn University. In 2007, Rick attended Drake University where he later received his Masters of Public Administration. “I received my MPA from Drake University with an emphasis in public policy. Working at State Public Policy Group has given me so many opportunities to immerse myself in policy issues, planning, and real project work. I always want to learn and make a difference, and at SPPG I am able to do this everyday.” While Rick was finishing his Masters Degree, he worked as a research, budget, and data analyst intern at the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and, later, as a policy intern with the Governor’s office. Rick always wants to know how and why people make and form policy decisions. It’s somewhat predictable that Rick is a descendant of lawyer, author, poet, and occasional songwriter Francis Scott Key – and was born on the 4th of July. One more thing - he is training for another triathlon season. Always all in! |
